What Have Waft and LePlan in Common?

WAFT is a small, independent publishing house from Belgium, specialised in high quality books on car design and car culture. The latest publication, ‘WAFT 3, Small is beautiful.’ again offers 256 pages full of great photography, exclusive stories, great drives, tantalising reports and above all, a unique view.

EVER 2

WAFT is renewed. And yet, WAFT remained almost completely the same.

WAFT 3 is slightly smaller compared to its predecessors, because ‘Small is beautiful.’ And it’s much more affordable. But it again offers 256 pages full of great photography, exclusive stories, great drives, tantalising reports and above all, a unique view.

Basically, it offers more for less. Certainly because WAFT will appear more frequently in the future.

WAFT 3 presents the McLaren X1 which experiences its very own private Festival of Speed, the Equus Bass 770 which explores Detroit, the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante or a Bugatti and Delahaye which tell the colourful story of Antem. Moreover, Lowie Vermeersch’s Granstudio designed a plug-out hybrid for WAFT, Lorenzo Ramaciotti looks back at his career, Ralph Gilles explains why he has big shoes to fill and Fabio Filippini gives an insight in his psyche. We traveled to Detroit, and to Deauville for a story on Un homme et une femme. We met Maria Teresa de Filippis – the first woman in Formula 1 – we unearthed the bar where test drivers drink their sorrows away, we try to find out what makes a car cool, we had an exclusive dive in the archives of dashboard designer VDO and so much more.

WAFT 3 is written in English, 256 pages, hard cover, 25x25centimetre, only 40 euros, ex P&P.

For real enthusiasts, lovers of unique series or those who just want to hearten us, we also have the ‘Friend of the House’ version which is limited to 250 numbered unities. It comes in a beautiful box and it’s accompanied by an artwork of the Porsche 550 Spyder, specially made for WAFT by renowned artist Ever Meulen. It’s numbered, obviously, and signed by the artist.
